TOMS RIVER, N.J. (PIX11) – A New Jersey man admitted he traveled to Norway to have sex with a 14-year-old girl, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba.

Jacob Bauer, 29, pleaded guilty to engaging in illicit sexual conduct in a foreign place on Thursday. Prosecutors said the Toms River man flew from the U.S. to a Norwegian hotel in December 2023, where he met and had sex with the teenager.

Bauer, once back in the U.S., then spoke about having sex with the teenager online, according to prosecutors. Prosecutors said Bauer acknowledged the victim’s age and the fact that she was a minor in those chats.

He was later doxxed by members of an online community after they learned about his crime, according to prosecutors.

Bauer faces a maximum of 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $250
