HALL COUNTY, Neb. (KSNB) - Gov. Jim Pillen attended Husker Harvest Days where he spoke to a crowd of a few dozen about issues such as politics, technology and the future of agriculture in the state.

The first question Pillen was asked was about his recent trip to Japan where he met with officials about supplying the country with E10 fuel.

“Japan is looking very seriously at doing Ethanol 10% blend,” Pillen said. “They go through 12 billion gallons of gasoline, so tremendous opportunities for Nebraska. There’s nobody close when it talks about beef, pork, ethanol and then the next chapter of sustainable aviation fuel.”

The governor added that Japanese officials asked him about Nebraska’s ability to keep up with Japan’s needs. Pillen said he told them he was confident in Nebraska’s ability
