ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4/Gray Media) - Local politicians are reacting after Charlie Kirk, a well-known conservative political activist, was shot and killed at an event at Utah Valley University.

Kirk was shot in the neck at the event on Wednesday afternoon. President Trump later posted on Truth Social that Kirk had died.

After the shooting, politicians from Illinois and Missouri reacted on social media:

Kirk is the CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA.

Videos posted to social media from Utah Valley University show Kirk speaking into a handheld microphone while sitting under a white tent emblazoned with the slogans “The American Comeback” and “Prove Me Wrong.”
