There is "no cause for concern" if you see a large police presence at Calhoun High or Middle schools Thursday, Calhoun police say.
According to social media posts from the agency and schools, police are conducting a routine safety sweep of both campuses.
"These proactive checks are part of our ongoing commitment to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for students, staff, and visitors," stated Chief Tony Pyle. "There is no active threat or incident, and normal school activities are continuing as scheduled."
The agency says they appreciate the community's support as they work together to keep the schools safe.
