CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - North Carolina leaders were scheduled to hold a press conference about the deadly stabbing of Iryna Zarutska on a Charlotte light rail.
Senator Leader Phil Berger and House Speaker Destin Hall were scheduled to speak at noon on Thursday, Sept. 11, to discuss legislative action in the wake of Zarutska’s murder on Aug. 22. A live stream of that press conference will be available in the video player above.
City, state and national leaders have turned their eyes to the Queen City following the release of security footage showing the Ukrainian refugee stabbed to death on the Lynx Blue Line.
