WALHALLA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said an Upstate man is facing charges in the kidnapping and sexual assault of an Upstate woman.

The victim, who is pregnant, contacted Westminster Police Department about an assault that occurred at a home on Sandifer Boulevard.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency in the investigation and said the victim had been physically grabbed, sexually assaulted and held inside the home. The victim bit the suspect to escape his hold, deputies said.

Evidence found by investigators led them to charge 32-year-old Nathan Walter Rogers with kidnapping and second-degree domestic violence.

Rogers knew the victim was pregnant, deputies said.

He is being held at the Oconee County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
