MAYODAN, N.C. — A 37-year-old woman has been arrested after deputies say she communicated threats against children during a live stream on a social media platform on Thursday.

According to Superintendent John Stover, the woman, identified as Heather Brooke Clarke, was doing a Facebook Live stream in the parking lot of McMichael High School. The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office arrested Clarke and charged her with felony communicating threats of mass violence on education property.

Clarke is being held at the Rockingham County Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond.

Rockingham County Schools (RCS) said Clarke entered the campus parking lot and stayed for about 15 minutes. She did not interact with students or try to enter any buildings, the district said.
