COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation and YMCA of Central Ohio partnered to open a new street hockey rink at the Liberty/Powell YMCA. CBJ center Cole Sillinger and former player Andrew Cassels were present at a ribbon-cutting event on Tuesday, Sept. 10, to celebrate.
The Blue Jackets Foundation and the NHL invested $250,000 into the rink's construction to commemorate the 2025 NHL Stadium Series . With the installation of the ADA-accessible rink, the YMCA will begin to offer youth clinics and programs for the public and students of nearby schools.
