LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Across the Las Vegas Valley, locals are marking 24 years since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks with ceremonies, volunteer work and tributes honoring the victims.
At the World Trade Center site in New York City, nearly 3,000 victims’ names were read aloud Thursday. For many, the emotions remain raw, and the Las Vegas Valley has rallied to provide community support.
At 6:30 p.m., the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada is set to lead its annual Sept. 11 Tribute Procession to honor the lives lost. The procession is expected to include first responders, military personnel and community members. Residents and visitors are invited to line the procession route and participate, officials said.
It’s expected to start at Main and Fremont streets.
