OMAHA, Neb. —

The Omaha Fire Department hosted an event on Thursday in remembrance of 9/11.

The entire department took the time to reflect in tribute, including the members of the downtown station.

"People, they do forget. We live in a moment of right now and what's in front of me. And it's important to reflect because maybe history doesn't repeat itself," said Curt Huey.

It's been 24 years since the events of 9/11.
