SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Drury University sent a statement to students earlier today, saying they responded quickly to a reported threat on campus earlier today involving a hand-drawn target found on an exterior door of the Hammons School of Architecture (HSA), and a student’s report of seeing a red dot in the same area.
The statement was sent to the university from Drury's director of security, Candy Cornman.
According to the statement, faculty and staff immediately moved students into interior rooms and secured the exterior doors.
The statement said Drury Security and the Springfield Police Department (SPD) were notified, and an investigation was launched, including the use of drones and a thorough canvass of the south end of campus. No further evidence of a threat was found.
