NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WBTV) - A South Carolina daycare employee was arrested after allegedly shaking, slamming and hitting a baby multiple times.
North Charleston Police Department’s Special Victims Unit representatives announced the arrest of 75-year-old Gladys Rampersant on Sept. 11.
Officers said that she was seen “yanking” a baby under the age of one by the arms, shaking the baby several times, then “slamming” them into a crib at Sweetgrass Christian Academy. She then allegedly pulled the baby out of the crib and hit their head multiple times.
Rampersant was charged with unlawful conduct toward a child and placed under a $15,000 bond. She posted bond hours after her arrest.
