LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Work continues on Jefferson County's only largest scale data center, off Camp Ground Road. Neighbors told WHAS11, workers have been grinding trees.

The HyperScale data center south of Rubbertown is still under construction. Built by Poe Companies and PowerHouse Data Centers, it is planned to start at 100 megawatts and eventually expand to 400 megawatts. The facility does not yet have a secured tenant or customer.

Councilmember Markus Winkler, who covers District 17, is trying to get ahead of future developments. He introduced an ordinance and resolution in Thursday night's metro council meeting, calling for a temporary moratorium on rezoning for data centers, pending review by the planning commission. Winkler would like the commission to study the topic.
