Loyalist College president and CEO Mark Kirkpatrick is refuting recent union claims about cutbacks and staffing, chiefly a report stating administrative staff will soon outnumber faculty.
Thursday’s board meeting was the first since June’s in-camera session to elect officers, and the first public meeting since May.

The day also saw the start of a strike by full-time support staff at 24 public colleges, including Belleville-based Loyalist, where on Friday picketing continued.
Most classes are continuing with little to no changes or disruptions, the college reported.
