AKRON, Ohio — A fight that began on a Metro bus ended up with a woman being stabbed multiple times near the Summa Health System Akron Campus, police say.

The 23-year-old victim’s wounds were considered serious but not life-threatening, according to police. The woman was taken to the hospital, which was across the street from the incident.

Officers were called to the 500 block of East Market Street at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, the victim was receiving medical aid from a Summa Health Police Department officer.

The victim and another female passenger reportedly began arguing on a Metro bus. The suspect, Chavella Dorris, 34, is accused of charging toward the victim and stabbing her after both had exited the bus.
