CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Wednesday a 31 year old father of two became the latest innocent victim of gun violence in broad daylight.

That’s how I first looked upon Charlie Kirk after he was assassinated on the campus of Utah Valley University while attempting to have a civil discourse with students. Looked at him as a father of two. A fellow American. Not as a Republican. Not as a Conservative activist, organizer, podcaster, influencer.

Kirk was literally answering a question about mass shootings when he was shot in the neck from a rifleman on a campus roof 200 yards away.
