COLUMBIA — Dream Tree Academy 573 hosted a ribbon cutting Friday in celebration of the anniversary of its reopening

The nonprofit has been around for five years and relocated to a new building on Cherry Street last year.

Dream Tree Academy offers an after-school program that empowers youth to discover their passions and to turn them into a career.

Every week, small businesses are brought in to speak about building entrepreneurship skills and to help build the economic system.

The organization hopes to deliver innovative entrepreneurship, workforce development, and leadership education.

Dream Tree Academy serves youth ages 8-18 through its after school program, teaching financial literacy, mindset, trust fund management, and the pros and cons of entrepreneurship.
