The Baltimore Ravens had their eye on Shedeur Sanders with the No. 141 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

But the Colorado quarterback let the team know he didn’t want to be on a roster with Lamar Jackson, "where he wouldn’t have a chance to play anytime soon," ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported .

“Sanders knew that Jackson, a two-time MVP and one of the top players in the league, was not going to be losing his job as Baltimore’s starting quarterback anytime soon,” Schefter wrote .

Sanders ultimately went to the Browns — who arguably have the NFL’s messiest quarterback situation — three picks later. Deshaun Watson will miss the entire season with an Achilles injury , but they signed Joe Flacco — who was named Cleveland’s stater prior to Week 1 — and drafted Dillon Gabriel in the third
