LONG ISLAND (PIX11) – More Long Island Rail Road workers will decide Monday on a potential strike that could completely stop train service, officials said.

The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainmen, the union representing 600 LIRR engineers, will announce the results of its vote to authorize a strike as early as Thursday.

Two other LIRR unions have already approved the strike, which would bring the railroad to a screeching halt. All five involved unions, representing over half of unionized LIRR workers, will need to approve the strike for it to happen.
