The ball seemed to sit in the end zone forever, but Kaleb Johnson acted quickly postgame.

Still in his pads and uniform, the Steelers’ third-round rookie ripped the proverbial Band-Aid off as fast as he could. He knew he’d have to answer for his gaffe that gifted the Seahawks a touchdown and shifted the momentum Sunday at Acrisure Stadium and he wasted no time in doing so.

“I just gotta get better every day, that’s all I have to say about this,” Johnson said. “I guess I’ll meet with the team. I just have to go in there every day now and work my hardest now even more, with a chip on my shoulder.”

Johnson, of course, was referring to his lack of football IQ, lack of hustle or both on that kick return early in the fourth quarter. It was one thing to miss the ball as it took a weird bounce
