HOLLIS, N.H. —
After a dry summer, parts of the Granite State still face severe drought conditions that have remained present since May.
According to the National Weather Service, conditions stayed warmer than average this past summer. That's attributed to less frequent thunderstorm activity created by moisture coming up from the south, and consistent high pressure conditions sitting over New England.

In Concord, NWS measured 1.18 inches of rainfall in August, compared to an average of 3.63 inches for the month. The last time a drier summer happened on record was 2020.
