MANCHESTER, N.H. —

A multifamily home in Manchester is being demolished after a fire ripped through the roof of the building Friday night, sending two people to a hospital.

The roof of the home on Sullivan Street collapsed during the fire, and six families are now looking for new homes.

Salvation Army Maj. Jessie Irwin said she knows firsthand what it means to lose everything. A fire tore through her family's home on Easter 2015.

"We as a family had lost everything in a fire, and it is staggering to understand that people will reach into the things that they have and give you what they know that you need," she said. "It's stunning."
