One person was taken to the hospital early Monday morning after a shooting in Huntsville.
According to Huntsville Police, officers responded about 3 a.m. to a report of a shooting in progress in the 3200 block of Lodge Road.
When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound behind a business.
The victim told officers he had attempted to break up an altercation between two people when the offender turned on him.
Police say the offender produced a firearm during the struggle and shot the victim.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of Huntsville Police's Violent Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.
