STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTOK) - It was a Magnolia State matchup in Starkville as the Mississippi State Bulldogs played host to Alcorn State.

The bulldogs started the game off hot with their first four drives resulting in touchdowns.

Their defense was just as impressive, pitching a shutout for the first time since 2017.

Several younger guys on the roster got the opportunity to play, one of those guys being Noxubee County High School Alum Kmario Taylor.

The freshman went 2/3 with a 42-yard touchdown pass to Brenen Thompson in the first quarter.

The Bulldogs are now 3-0 after taking a 63-0 win over Alcorn State.

Mississippi State will host Northern Illinois at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 20th.
