Woman found beaten to death on East 24th Street

A woman was found beaten to death on East 24th Street, according to a release from the Winston-Salem Police Department.

On Sept. 14 at approximately 1:19 p.m., Winston-Salem offi cers located Rhonda Larochelle Oglesby, 51, in a vehicle in the 1600 block of East 24th Street, the release said.

Police say it appeared that Oglesby was suffering from signs of physical violence, and Emergency Medical Services pronounced Oglesby dead at the scene.

The Winston-Salem Police Department Criminal Investigations Division has assumed responsibility for the investigation and say preliminary investigation determined that Oglesby was likely assaulted in her home at 730 Motor Road and later transported to the 1600 block of East 24th Street.
