Vanderbilt football is back in the national rankings for a second straight year.
Thanks to a 31-7 thumping of then-No. 11 South Carolina over the weekend, the unbeaten Commodores (3-0) have debuted at No. 20 in the Associated Press top 25 this week.

Vandy made two appearances in the poll last season, reaching No. 25 after wins over Ball State on Oct. 19 and Auburn on Nov. 2. But the ‘Dores lost each of their next two contests, falling to Texas and South Carolina, respectively, to fall out of the polls.
