COLUMBIANA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The generosity of others is coming through in a big way for a central Alabama animal shelter.
After asking for donations on Sept. 12 to help with payroll for employees, the Shelby County Humane Society Executive Director Saundra Ivey says they had raised more than half of their $50,000 goal in by Saturday.
“I am so grateful for the supportive comments and of course the donations you all have made or pledged,” Ivey said Sunday in a post to the Shelby Humane Facebook page . “I wish there was a way I could meet all of you and shake your hands.”
Just one day prior, Ivey took to Facebook with the dire message that the shelter is struggling financially.
