SUMMERVILLE — Police announced the arrest of two people in connection to their 3-year-old son’s shooting more than two weeks ago.
The boy was shot and injured on Sept. 1 and remains hospitalized in critical condition, police say.
Jamarris Dyquan Benjamin, 23, and Yazmin Reginea Payne, 22, were arrested Sept. 12 and face multiple charges in connection to the incident, including three counts of unlawful conduct towards a child .
Benjamin also faces one count of third-offense marijuana possession with intent to distribute and two counts of firearm possession by a convicted felon. Payne was charged with one count of first-offense marijuana possession with intent to distribute.
Benjamin and Payne have three children in common, all of whom were at the scene on Sept. 1.
