Two people were injured after a tire from a truck came off and struck the windshield of their vehicle, causing a crash and the closure of both the north and southbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Whitpain Township, Montgomery County, on Monday.

The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. Monday in Whitpain Township.

Pennsylvania State Police said two people were injured in the crash, and there were no fatalities. Montgomery County dispatch told CBS News Philadelphia that the two people were flown to an area hospital in unknown conditions.
