CHARLES TOWN — The Old Opera House is preparing for a new season filled with shows that will make audiences laugh, cry and connect with characters on stage. It’s 2025-2026 season six different shows, including musicals, comedies and classics that the community can enjoy.

Every year, the Old Opera House has a small committee that comes together to select plays to bring to the stage. Steven Brewer, managing and artistic director, explained that they always check to see what other theaters are doing and try to find shows that have never been seen before in the community. They also try to bring back classics every few years and make sure there is a balance, including at least two musicals every year.
