Duke football 's Manny Diaz kept it simple after the Blue Devils ' 34-27 loss to Tulane in Week 3 to fall to 1-2 on the season.
The second-year coach was not pleased with Duke 's performance, which was riddled by mistakes in all three phases of the game. Special teams miscues accounted for nine unscored points, including a blocked punt, a mishandled snap and a missed field goal. Defensively, Duke struggled in the red zone and on third downs, while offensively, the Blue Devils often faltered once entering Tulane territory.
"Of all three phases, they've all been inconsistent." Diaz said on Monday, Sept. 15. "They all have."
"We're not proud of our performance this past Saturday. But it is in the past, right? We have a chance to learn from it and to grow."
