OUTER BANKS, N.C. — Part of a modular home has been blown off a trailer on the Basnight Bridge in the Outer Banks Wednesday afternoon, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT).

An official with NCDOT believes that high winds may have caused the incident.

The bridge is closed, NCDOT says, while the North Carolina State Highway Patrol works to clear the scene.

NCDOT asks drivers to avoid the area.
