BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - With J.J. McCarthy injured, Carson Wentz will start the Minnesota Vikings’ week three game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, McCarthy has a high-ankle sprain and is week-to-week.

McCarthy’s injury adds insult to injury to the Vikings’ loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football. McCarthy was sacked six times and turned the ball over three times.

Sunday will be Wentz’s first start in a Vikings uniform and his first NFL start since week 18 of the 2024 NFL season.
