BERRIEN SPRINGS, Michigan — A suspect was arrested for robbing a gas station at gunpoint and firing a shot, Berrien Springs Police say.
An alarm went off at the BP Pri-mart gas station at 8763 M-139 Highway in Oronoko Township around 1:29 p.m. on Sunday.
Police say that's where a man apparently used a pistol to rob the gas station, then fired a shot past an employee. He left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
No one was hurt, police say.
Around two hours later, the suspect was found in a parked car at the Speedway Station in Berrien Springs. Officers attempted to arrest the man, but he drove off on South Main Street.
At the dead end of the street, police say he drove into the St. Joseph River.
He was arrested after a short pursuit and is now at the Berrien County Jail. He
