An unexpected visitor was found in a Lancaster County neighborhood.
The Raven Ridge Wildlife Center shared photos in a post on their Facebook page that "each day is unique, filled with unexpected calls and animals needing assistance."
“Recently, we received a call from the Columbia police about a Boa constrictor found in the middle of the road,” the post read.
After some confusion and surprise, the staff went to check on the snake.
“While we don’t rehabilitate or take in exotic animals like Boa constrictors, we knew we couldn’t leave this animal in a dangerous situation, as it was obviously not native to the area,” the post read.
With the help of local police, the staff rehabber collected the constrictor and avoided any harm that may have come from it being loose.
