DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) - Delta Township residents may miss out on fireworks for a second year.
That’s according to a budget proposal set to be presented at Monday’s township board meeting.
According to the proposal, $39,000 was cut from the fireworks budget, and $14,000 was cut from the community awards budget.
For those events to move forward, the missing funds would have to be added back into the budget, the proposal says.
Budget estimates for 2024 show overtime for police services during the fireworks show was $50,000.
Delta Township cancelled its 2025 fireworks show over funding issues. The newly-proposed budget would also cut 2026’s show.
