Moses Meus picked up an individual honor Monday after his University of Rhode Island defense helped power a weekend victory over Holy Cross.
Meus was named the Defensive Player of the Week by the Coastal Athletic Association, a reward for his contribution in a 9-7 win against the Crusaders. Meus recorded seven tackles and a sack as URI pulled out a second straight road contest against a competitive opponent.
“He’s starting to get to the point where he’s a dominant player,” URI coach Jim Fleming said on a conference call. “He’s got plenty of time left to continue to improve. When he gets out there and swallows up the quarterback it’s impressive.”
