DANVILLE, Pa. — Workers at Bason Coffee Roasting on Mill Street in Danville are busy making coffee for customers. Owner Brad Bason has been monitoring the latest Consumer Price Index Report that was released last week. The report showed coffee prices spiked nearly 21 percent compared to last year. He says there are a number of things contributing to this, it's almost like a perfect storm.
"The weather and the supplies coming out of our main coffee supplier countries out of Brazil and Vietnam, demand, and the coffee futures has kind of put a perfect storm into driving the commodity pricing of coffee right now to all time levels," said Brad Bason, Bason Coffee Roasting owner.
