LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Michigan Republicans will be hosting a rally on Monday at the Capitol to "honor the life and legacy" of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Kirk was shot and killed on Sept. 10 while debating on the campus of Utah Valley University as part of his "American Comeback" tour.
Michigan House Republicans announced in a Facebook post that the rally will take place on the steps of the Capitol at 4:00 p.m. on Sept. 15.
Alex Bitzan, who leads the Michigan State University’s chapter of Turning Point USA, said Kirk’s killing left members grieving.
“I would have the same exact response if it was someone I disagreed with and this behavior is just not acceptable under any circumstances,” Bitzan told 6 News on Thursday.
