The University of Tennessee at Knoxville made moves to fire a professor on Monday over a social media post related to Charlie Kirk.

The university posted to Facebook:

"The university has taken swift action against a faculty member who has failed to meet our expectations for civil engagement. Her actions endorsing violence and murder do not represent the university or our values."

TN State Rep. Jason Zachary was one of many praising the school for "immediate action" to terminate the professor.

"She made vile comments that lacked basic decency and do not reflect the values of Tennessee," said Zachary.

UTK's Campus Update said the faculty member was placed on administrative leave and termination proceedings had begun:
