JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) - The family of a Charleston man is asking U.S. leaders to help publicize his missing persons case since the family lost contact with him while he was traveling in Indonesia in early September.

The family r eported firefighter Wesley Fairey missing after he did not return from his vacation in Bali. He traveled with his friends to Uluwatu on Aug. 15 and was set to return to the United States on Sept. 8, according to his mother, Taunya Fairey. However, the family says they haven’t heard from him since Sept. 1.

Fairey’s sister, Kim Kearns, is now talking to news outlets to plead for help and for U.S. leaders to help publicize the missing persons case on an international scale.
