With J.J. McCarthy out for multiple weeks with an ankle injury, Wentz is expected to start Sunday against the Bengals, who will be starting a backup of their own – Jake Browning for injured Joe Burrow.

The game will be played at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, where Wentz watched Nick Foles lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl championship.

Wentz took all the 1st-team reps at Vikings practice last Thursday when McCarthy was with his fiancée, who was giving birth to the couple’s son. The Vikings’ 3rd-stringer is undrafted rookie Max Brosmer, who played at Minnesota.
