SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Four points — that’s been the entire difference between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and their first two opponents of this season.

Unfortunately in college football, that’s enough to begin the season 0-2 and now barely ranked after starting the year firmly in the top 10.

A last-second touchdown gave Texas A&M the 41-40 win over the Irish on Saturday Night. It was a back-and-forth game and obviously high scoring as the two teams combined for 81 points.

Notre Dame’s defense struggled all night long while A&M quarterback Marcel Reed only needed 17 completed passes to rack up 360 yards through the air and two scores, including the game-winning 11-yard touchdown pass to Nate Boerkircher with just 13 seconds left on fourth down.
