JENA, La. (KALB) - During Week 3 of the 2024 season, the St. Frederick Warriors handed Jena their first regular season loss since 2022, a game the Giants haven’t forgotten about.
“I mean, we all got a slight aggression towards them because last season we came up short, and we’re just ready to play,” Jena junior quarterback Deuce McPherson said.
The Giants enter this rematch with some momentum from the season’s first two weeks. Jena overcame a double-digit deficit in Week 1 at Mangham, followed by a 56-3 rout last Friday at Menard.
“Well, I felt like Week 1 we showed one of the things we talked about all offseason and overcoming adversity,” Jena Football head coach Jay Roark said. “I felt like we improved upon some things in Week 2, so just got to continue improving upon that.”
