CURRY COUNTY, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) – An occupational therapist in New Mexico was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to six charges related to sexual assault and exploitation of children.

As was previously reported on Myhighplains, Jared Cordum was arrested in July 2024 after he was accused of committing criminal acts against multiple children under the age of 10.

In May, Cordum reached an agreement in the 9th Judicial District Court in Curry County on six charges related to actions taken from December 2021 through April 2024, including: • Two counts of “Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor in the Second Degree (Child Under 13) (Unclothed)”; • Two counts of “Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor in the Third Degree (Child Under 13) (Clothed)”; • One count of “Manufacturing
