CINCINNATI, Ohio — Bengals coach Zac Taylor told reporters on Monday that quarterback Joe Burrow is likely headed for surgery with turf toe on his left toe that he suffered in Sunday’s 31-27 win vs. the Jaguars.

Burrow suffered the injury in the second quarter after being sacked by Jaguars defensive tackle Arik Armstead.

“It’s unfortunate that this happened, but that’s part of football,” Taylor said. “I don’t know how a turf toe injury fully happens, how you’ve gotta get hit or stepped on.

“I know that he potentially could have been clean for 99% of the game, and the one play is where this happens. I get it. I understand where people are gonna come from.
