LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Clark County School District teachers who made social media posts about the assassination of political influencer Charlie Kirk that have caused "substantial disruption" are currently not assigned to classrooms, Superintendent Jhone Ebert announced Monday.

Ebert said she and her team have spent the last week listening to people who have reached out to the district since Kirk's death, as they have received thousands of emails, social media posts, and direct messages.

"There is common ground in every message I have read. Our community wants our children to feel safe at school, and they want teachers who model values of kindness, understanding, and respect," Ebert said in the statement.
