MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A public mural will be unveiled Monday in honor of late legendary actor John Amos.

Created by Memphis artist and educator Cameron Hill, the mural honors legacy, fatherhood and storytelling and is dedicated to Amos, known to many as "America's Dad."

The mural is sponsored by the MVP3 Foundation, the City of Memphis, Shelby County Commissioner Edmund Ford Jr. among others. The MVP3 Foundation, founded by Marie Pizano, "revitalizes communities through arts, mentorship and education, empowering youth and creatives to find their voice and pursue their aspirations," according to a news release announcing the mural's unveiling.

Amos is best known for his role on "Good Times." He died in August at age 84.

The foundation will unveil a new public mural called "Three Generations"
