MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Arson was suspected after a fire damaged two homes in a South Memphis neighborhood early Monday morning, fire officials said.

According to the Memphis Fire Department (MFD), the fire was reported just before 3 a.m. on Walker Avenue between College and Cummings streets. Firefighters arrived to find a one-story, single-family dwelling "fully involved," the department said.

No civilians nor firefighters were injured as the home was vacant at the time of the fire, MFD said.

The fire department said that the fire caused $68,000 in damage to the building and $13,000 in content losses. The fire also damaged a second home, located on the same block, MFD said, causing over $12,000 in building and content losses.
