Thousands of MLGW customers without power as storms roll through Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Thousands of Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) customers were without power as storms rolled through the Mid-South Monday morning.

According to MLGW's outage map, 5,087 customers were in the dark due to 20 outages as of 6:51 a.m.

As of 7:25, that number had dropped to 3,233 customers due to 17 outages.

The utility company reported that over 1,000 customers in the area of Central and Park avenues were without power. What caused the power was not immediately known but strong storms were rolling through the Mid-South at the time of the outages.
